Downtown Development

Downtown Pittsburg serves as a reminder of the past and a promise for the future. We are proud of downtown and make sure to care for it.  In 2009 the City of Pittsburg completed a $3 million streetscape program.

Downtown is prime for development of service, retail and housing. We believe that, and coming fall 2018 is an innovative project that highlights partnerships between the city, Pittsburg State University and private development.

Block22 is a unique, living learning community focused on students who thrive in art, commerce and technology. Block22 transforms 4th and Broadway into an entrepreneurial epicenter.

Combining 100 units of student housing with more than 16,000 square feet of innovation space for students to explore their own entrepreneurial ventures, Block22 also boasts a robust co-working space and makerspace.
