Downtown Pittsburg’s 2nd Annual Bridal Crawl kicks off on Sept. 22 at Memorial Auditorium! Passports will be available in the lobby between 4 and 6 p.m. for $5 each.
Brides, grooms, friends and wedding parties: visit several merchants in our lobby to get your passport stamped before hitting the road to visit each of our participating Downtown merchants to see what they offer to brides, grooms, and wedding parties.
- At each stop, you’ll get to taste, try on, sample, ask questions, and get your passport punched by that merchant.
- Return to Memorial between by 9 p.m. for drinks and snacks as well as a sampling of hors d’oeuvres from four caterers —Calvin’s Catering, Sodexo, and Two Flowers Bakery, and Colton’s — at our mock wedding reception set up in the lower level.
- Signet Coffee will have a gourmet coffee bar open for samples
- A cash bar will be open courtesy of Pairrot Head Liquor
- At 9:30, we’ll have a prize drawing for a FREE wedding reception donated by Memorial Auditorium, valued at $1,000, and these amazing prizes donated by our Main Event Sponsors:
• A $300 gift certificate for a free wedding cake from Sweet Designs Cakery
• A $250 photo shoot from TimeKeepers Photography

Tasting opportunities, mini consultations, and photo galleries of cake designs will greet Bridal Crawl participants at Sweet Designs Cakery, 311 N. Broadway, in Downtown Pittsburg, Kansas. Owners Heather Lynn Horton and Roger Horton also will be scheduling consultations that evening and booking for 2017-18. Voted the No. 1 Bakery in the “Favorites of the 4-States” in the Joplin Globe contest and SEK Favorite Bakery in the “Readers’ Choice” in The Morning Sun contest, Sweet Designs has been serving brides with custom cakes since 2009.
A showcase of different bridal vignettes — including bouquets, corsages, boutonnières, centerpieces, and large altar pieces — will greet you at The Little Shop of Flowers, 801 N. Broadway, during the Bridal Crawl. Owner Kim Clark will give you the chance to see, touch, and smell a variety of floral items and to speak with designers about your goals for your wedding florals. This florist and gift shop, which has a bridal registry, earned accolades in the “Readers’ Choice” contest by The Morning Sun and has been serving brides with floral needs for many years. Kim is also beautifully decorating the faux receptions at Memorial Auditorium for the Bridal Crawl!
Say hello to the friendly faces of Signet Coffee Roasters at the Bridal Crawl and enjoy their coffee bar set up and Memorial Auditorium and samples at their store with all the fixings for you to enjoy. A coffee bar would be a great addition to your celebration, whether it’s at a rehearsal dinner, the morning of the wedding while you get ready, during your dinner, or even the morning after! It’s always good to have a tasty pick-me-up. Looking for unique gift or favor ideas? Leah and Dennis will have some samples for you to look at. All of their coffee is freshly roasted at their store located in Downtown Pittsburg, Kansas at 206 S. Broadway. In addition to selling coffee beans, they serve brewed coffee, a full espresso bar, and homemade pastries.
On the night of the Crawl, brides can check out the adorable Mr. & Mrs. items, boutique clothing and jewelry, and a Wish List service that Embellish offers. And owner Clara Barnes will visit with you about customizable paint classes that you can book as a bridal shower or just a fun girl’s night out before your big day!
Piece of Cake Nutrition
Brides: Stop by Piece of Cake Nutrition during the Bridal Crawl on Friday to sample teas, shakes, and protein shakes, and your name will be entered in a drawing for a month’s worth of shakes and coaching geared to help you reach your goals — whether that is getting fit or losing weight or both! Piece of Cake is a great place for your entire bridal party to begin to get in great shape together for your big day. It is fast food for smart people!
At this locally-owned full-service salon, owners Brian and Kelli Hendrickson will treat brides to complimentary champagne and eyelash applications, and will offer coupons to participants who book bridal/bridal party hair appointments the evening of Bridal Crawl.
Good Times Photobooth
GOOD TIMES Photobooth by O’Neill is the perfect way to entertain guests at your special event! The photo booth provides a great keepsake for guests to take home, and the fun appeals to all ages! He travels throughout Kansas, Missouri, Oklahoma and Arkansas!

This locally-owned custom seamstress will have a mannequin on display in Memorial Auditorium’s lobby with a custom beautiful wedding dress.

She offers a full retail selection of cake decorating supplies, candy making supplies and tons of party goods and balloons. It’s the most fun you’ll have shopping in a long time!
The Himmel House
Pittsburg’s premier bed and breakfast will be contributing a $50 gift card with a mug and soap to our prize drawing. Jeff and Sherri Stephens have created a peaceful, charming home-away-from-home in an historic home on a brick street that would make a wonderful spot for a bridal shower or for members of the wedding party or special guests to stay.
Butler’s Quarters is one of Pittsburg’s newest event spaces in an historic downtown building. Butler’s Quarters has donated a $100 gift card good toward a rental, or a 1.5-hour free event.
